Cage Calculator
Is my cage big enough?

Thanks to Annette for the inspiration for this code. Her site (and shop) at Ratty Corner is always worth a visit.

Simply measure your cage up and stick the numbers in below.

Space per rat:
2½ cubic feet (approx. 0.07 cubic metres)
2 cubic feet (approx. 0.06 cubic metres)
1½ cubic feet (approx. 0.04 cubic metres)
We wouldn't recommend less than 2 cu.ft per rat. If you can offer more space, so much the better.

Cage dimensions:
height
inches
width
centimetres
depth
millimetres

Remember: a cage may have enough volume for your rats, but they can only use that space if you give them shelves, hammocks, toys, to use it and use it safely.
