Peebles is a special rat, because was the first black roan that we bred. He also did very well at his first show - at only seven weeks old he won best New Varieties Kitten, beating 11 other rats. He's continued to do well, firstly in the New Varieties class, and as he got older, in the pet class - helped by his wonderful, friendly temperament.
He has six brothers (two "buff" roan, two buff self and two black mismarked Irish). We also kept his brothers Moffat and Scotty.
Peebs was an early developer - his eyes opened when he was 13 days old, and was always large for his age. By about 10 weeks of age he was already heavier than some of our adult bucks, and now at over a year old it's clear that he takes after his Uncle Hamish!
