Boo was one of a large number of rats handed in at the Burford Blue Cross rescue centre near Oxford after they had been dumped in a mixed sex group at a monkey sanctuary. She was with two other rats, all possibly pregnant, and we fostered all three. Fortunately it soon became clear that none of them were having litters, and we rehomed the other two, but Boo stayed with us and immediately settled in with some of our own does.
Boo has a wonderful temperament, and is very much like Kelmé. She is always into everything, and is very human friendly. She used to be nervous around other rats and ran away if they came near, but she is now very relaxed and makes new friends quickly. We are very pleased as she has also won a couple of rosettes in the Black-Eyed White (BEW) class at shows. She is called Boo as it sound like BEW.
